Hi, I’m Kerry! Here you will find approachable homemade bread recipes served up with modern takes on healthier classics and comfort food favourites. All with a focus on simple ingredients, local if possible, that reflect the seasons.
Featured on Food52, Tastemade, Cooking Light, Sur la Table, Life & Thyme and more, my recipes have inspired home cooks and bakers around the world to make their own bread and to put a healthier, more creative spin on beloved classics. Together, we’ve built a small but mighty community that continues to grow (I am so grateful for all of you!)
My Background
I am a home cook, baker, writer, recipe developer and creator of the popular food blog Harvest & Nourish. With a background in communications, public policy and PR, I founded Harvest & Nourish in 2020 to share the fresh and nourishing recipes and artisan breads made in my Canadian prairie kitchen.
I was raised on a farm in a rural community and cooking and baking have always been part of my life. My father was a farmer and home baker, and his father was a baker too. So, you could say that bread making is in my blood. Readers love my bread recipes!
Some of my fondest memories are of life on the farm. From growing our own produce to baking, canning & preserving and helping to prepare large family and harvest meals, I’ve carried these approaches with me throughout my life. I’ve also been fortunate to have explored a wide variety of cuisines as I’ve travelled the world, and have grown just about every kind of zone 3-4 vegetable you can think of. Few things are more inspiring to me than my weekend farmers’ market trips and supporting local producers!
All of these experiences have brought me joy, resulting in a calling to make it my career. That’s when Harvest & Nourish began.
