Healthier, no-bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispie Bars that are made with just 7 pantry staple ingredients, pack a little extra protein and require almost no effort to make!

This time of year, I’m always inspired to create simpler recipes. I love it when the temperatures start to warm up and immediately start thinking about summer desserts. And what’s not to love about a no-bake chocolate peanut butter bar?

Here’s everything you’ll need to make them

  • ½ cup (135 grams) all-natural peanut butter
  • ½ cup (160 grams) maple syrup
  • 1 heaping tablespoon (18 grams) protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons (28 grams) coconut oil divided (sub neutral vegetable oil)
  • Pinch kosher or fine sea salt
  • 2 ½ cups (75 grams) Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup (190 grams) dark chocolate chips
  • Maldon salt to finish

These chocolate covered Krispie treats take maybe 20 minutes to put together and an hour or so to chill. I like to make them with dark chocolate, maple syrup, peanut butter and coconut oil. Honey, milk chocolate and almond butter are all delicious options, too. Oh, and the protein powder is not a must, you can easily leave it out and these bars will still be delicious!

How to make these Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispie Bars in 5 steps

  1. Prepare loaf pan.
  2. Mix together then heat peanut butter base.
  3. Stir in Rice Krispies, press into loaf pan and let cool.
  4. Top with melted chocolate, sprinkle with flaky salt and let sit in the fridge to harden.
  5. Remove from refrigerator, slice and enjoy!
