These Healthier No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispie Bars are made with just 7 pantry staple ingredients, pack a little extra protein and come together quickly with just 30 minutes prep plus chill time.
This time of year, I’m always inspired to create simpler recipes. I love it when the temperatures start to warm up and immediately start thinking about summer desserts.
And what’s not to love about a no-bake chocolate peanut butter bar?
Here’s everything you’ll need to make these Healthier No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispie Bars
- ½ cup (135 grams) all-natural peanut butter
- ½ cup (160 grams) maple syrup
- 1 heaping tablespoon (18 grams) protein powder
- 2 tablespoons (28 grams) coconut oil divided
- Pinch kosher or fine sea salt
- 2 ½ cups (75 grams) Rice Krispies
- 1 cup (190 grams) dark chocolate chips
- Maldon salt to finish
I like to use dark chocolate, maple syrup, peanut butter and coconut oil in this recipe. Honey, milk chocolate and almond butter would all be delicious options, and vegetable oil will also work if that is what you have on hand.
The protein powder is optional. You can easily leave it out and these bars will still be delicious!
How to make these No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispie Bars in 5 steps
- Prepare loaf pan.
- Mix together then heat peanut butter base.
- Stir in Rice Krispies, press into loaf pan and let cool.
- Top with melted chocolate, sprinkle with flaky salt and let sit in the fridge to harden.
- Remove from refrigerator, slice and enjoy!

🍫 The secret to clean slicing
To ensure your chilled squares slice into perfectly clean servings without cracking, we’re using a quick oil trick.
When melting your dark chocolate chips, add a single tablespoon of coconut or neutral vegetable oil and heat them together at 30-second intervals until smooth.
The liquid fat blends seamlessly into the mixture, making the topping beautifully glossy while softening the final structure just enough to stay flexible and not shatter under a knife.
These No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispie Bars are SO good and you will love how easy they are to make. Sweet and chewy, a little salty and on the healthier side too!
