- 2 tablespoons (40 grams) honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon (40 grams) chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
What are chia seeds?
Considered a true super food, chia seeds are produced by a flowering plant in the mint family. Theyโre high in fibre, protein, calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium and antioxidants.
Available packaged or in bulk at most grocery and health food stores, chia seeds are also one of the easiest foods to incorporate into your diet. Simply toss a spoonful into any meal to boost its nutritional value!
โจ Chia seed hydration magic
Because this recipe is pectin-free, the chia seeds do all the heavy lifting to thicken the fruit!
When you first mix it together, the jam will look a little runny.
Allowing the mixture to rest in your refrigerator for a few hours lets the nutritious chia seeds expand and thicken your blend into a gorgeous, jammy spread.

No-cook jam is so quick and easy to make and ensures the retention of nutrients that may otherwise be lost during the cooking process. We love that this recipe is low in sugar, allowing the full flavours of the berries, natural sweetener and lemon to shine through.
๐ Choose your own fruit adventure
This simple, no-cook chia seed jam recipe serves as a versatile base for almost any fruit of your choice.
You can easily swap out the fresh strawberries for a batch of juicy raspberries, wild blueberries, ripe blackberries, or sweet summer peaches.
Simply adjust your liquid sweetener and fresh lemon juice amounts to taste right at the end to account for natural variations in the sweetness and acidity of your fruit.
This No-Cook 4-Ingredient Chia Seed Strawberry Jam makes a delicious addition to any meal. Spread it on toast, stir it into oats or yogurt, or spoon it over ice cream for dessert!
